Your Own Valley
type a name — a whole valley comes with it
Everything above is true
None of it was made up for the occasion and none of it is stored anywhere. Your name is turned into a number, and the number is enough to work out the whole valley — the shape of the hills, where the river goes, which trees stand where, how many villages lie downstream, and what the weather will do a thousand years from now.
Nobody has to save any of that, because it can always be worked out again. Close this page and the valley is gone. Type the same name tomorrow, on any computer in the world, and every stone will be back exactly where it was.
The counts of villages are exact, not estimates — they are worked out by arithmetic on the numbers themselves, without building any of that land. The rain has a proven repeat, so “forever” is meant literally.
Ground and river from valleyGrid; villages from the settlement law;
weather from tri_xor, whose theorem is the reason the forecast can be stated as a
fact. Everything on this page shares its code with the rest of
RangeBlends.
