Six new Far looks and the Mesh menu's mixes over Rock and Lava, Light: sky (the sky each point sees, as spherical harmonics) and the Lanterns puzzle, both from sitoolz.
▶ Go therelooks2-1-atlas Far atlas on the Ember Rift at 11:30: a printed relief map, the land tinted by its height from green lowland through tan to a white summit, hillshaded from the north-west, a brown line every 20 blocks; Rock and Lava stay on under it, the cracks glowing through.▶ Go therelooks2-2-aurora Far aurora on the Ember Rift at 20:36: the land dark under an iridescent sheen that brightens where the ground turns away from you, teal and violet walls over a lilac plain, the lava still glowing in its cracks.▶ Go therelooks2-3-blueprint Far blueprint: deep blue paper, a white grid every 16 cells, a contour every 4 blocks and a bold one every 20, the Rift drawn like an engineer's plan with the lava running through it.▶ Go therelooks2-4-strata Far strata at 16:30: earth-tone bands three blocks thick climbing every face of the Rift, each band's weight set by the ruler of its number, under a low sun.▶ Go therelooks2-5-ink Far ink: paper and an ink wash, hatching on the steep faces, a contour every 10 blocks; the Rift as a page from a sketchbook, the lava the only colour.▶ Go therelooks2-6-thermal Far thermal: false colour by height and slope, from violet in the gorges through red to a gold summit.▶ Go therelooks2-7-gorge-atlas Far atlas on the Ternary Gorge at 9:00: the tan plateau over the green gorge, contour lines stepping down the walls.▶ Go therelooks2-8-mix A mix from the new Mesh menu: Far painted with the ruler colours blended in at a quarter and the ruler grid faint over it, the grid's lines where the ruler keeps the mesh's points, in each level's colour.▶ Go therelooks2-9-grid The ruler grid, bold, over the plain smooth ground of the Ternary Gorge: lines every cell near, every 2, 4, 8 … cells as the ruler's levels thin out with distance.▶ Go therelooks2-10-night-baked The Ember Rift at 20:36 with Rock on and Light: baked, as before: every point lit by one number for the open sky it sees.▶ Go therelooks2-11-night-sky The same with Light: sky (sitoolz skylight): each point lit by the sky it actually sees, as spherical harmonics, nine numbers baked beside the horizons. The walls that face the open night sky take its cool blue, the recesses fall darker, and the cracks glow against them. Opt-in; Rock must be on.▶ Go therelooks2-12-lanterns The new Lanterns puzzle (sitoolz lanterns) on the Ruler Hills: a ruler board, where a press reaches 2^v2(c + 1) along its column and row, laid by the world's word over GF(2) so it is solvable by construction. The hint (ringed) is the first press of the proven fewest-press solution, never wrong: followed to the end it took exactly the fewest, 19 presses.
