Before: the Ternary Gorge's terraced wall on the ruler mesh with the rings alone (mesherr=off, cliff=off): 345,402 triangles, and in the middle distance the wall's corners stand 4 to 16 cells apart, so every terrace edge is cut into a comb of teeth.
After: meshz's error term keeps a vertex wherever the flat triangle misses the ground, out to 96 cells a block missed and one level past its ring, and never breaks the crack rule (rims by the rings, apexes forced, the unreachable dropped). The comb is gone for 370,104 triangles, a fifth of ultra's 1.9 million.
The Gorge at 6:48 as it drew before the Cliff Pack (terrain=auto, detail max): voxel chunks near, smooth far tiles beyond, 1.36 million triangles, and a dawn wash that turns every surface one olive.
The same hour with the Cliff Pack, now the default on a range: the rock where the ground stands steep, banded by the ruler of its block of height, moss on the ledges, the ground lit only where its baked horizon lets the low sun through, the sky's light by how much sky each point sees, and a gentle filmic tone map.
The Gorge at noon, the sun high: every terrace's grey wall between green ledges, its bands bolder every 4th, 8th and 16th block, the gullies darker where they see less sky.
The Ember Rift at 7:24, the new world: the Sixfold Chasm's law at stature 2, dressed as a rift (grey scree and basalt banded in nines, ash on the heights), cut by fissures where Lars's ruler spikes: strips three cells wide, and a strip whose index 2 divides five or more times is a slot 22 blocks deep for each level past five, lava glowing on its floor.
