A LITTLE LIGHT. A LOVELY CONNECTION.
Glow Pair Post
Two lantern cards become one little message. Different lights glow; matching lights rest. Pair them thoughtfully and carry every message home.
No clock. Unlimited undo. A trained pairing partner when you want one.
Choose any two cards and watch their lights combine.
Every little light found home.
A whole route, made from your pairings. Sit with it for a moment, or open another postbag.
THE JOY OF XOR
One light, two lights… a new message.
At each window, a light in just one card stays lit. Two lights in the same window cancel each other. Two dark windows stay dark.
That is XOR: “one or the other.” Choose a pair that makes the current address. Keep an eye on the other messages too—there may be more than one way to make this one.
The Lantern playground lets you try every pair without using up cards. Swap the order, or pair a card with itself, and see what happens.

How hlib learned the light associations
The actual pytoolz hlib parity detector learned four XOR rules from examples. Its 64 unseen card-pair checks matched on every light. The game uses those learned rules to combine patterns; a separately trained WSRF forest estimates which pairing leaves a finishable route.
A 1.0 score is a learned estimate of the exact training target “the remaining route can be finished.” It is not a guarantee for a new route. Tree spread is disagreement between trees.
